Red Wines
2006 Etude, Pinot Noir (Napa Valley, California)
A big palate with lush fruit combined with baking spice notes and a soft finish.
2005 L'Ecole No. 41, Perigee, Seven Hills Vineyard (Walla Walla, Washington)
A blend with red cherry and blackberry fruit, with rich floral and spicy aromas of cinnamon and mocha
2004 Kangarilla Road, McLaren Vale Shiraz (McLaren Vale, Australia)
Full, long flavored with red and dark complex fruits finishing with soft tannins.
2005 Ravenswood, Alexander Valley Zinfandel (Alexander Valley, California)
Joel Peterson and Reed Foster make some of the best Zins around.
2002 Erasmo, Estate Bottled, "Riserva di Caliboro" (Maule Valley, Chile)
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this has ripe flavors with solid structure and elegant tannins. Great with beef or venison.
2005 Honig Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley, California)
Ripe with dark fruit aromas of black cherry and plum, chewy tannins and toasty oak. A Blue Ginger Favorite!
Soldera, Brunello di Montalcino (Tuscany, Italy)
A big, elegant wine with beautiful tannins and nice structure. This is fantastic with roasts.
White Wines
2007 Bluefish, Estate Bottled, Riesling (Pfalz, Germany)
A great wine for spicy food.
2002, Michel Lynch, Sauvignon Blanc (Bordeaux, France)
Citrus aromas with bright acidity and a lingering finish, I love this with grilled seafood.
2007 Mulderbosch, Sauvignon Blanc (Stellenbosch, South Africa)
Full of green apple and tropical fruit notes with great acidity.
2007 Emmolo, Sauvignon Blanc (Napa Valley, California)
Plenty of rounded fruit notes like citrus and melon with an herbaceous quality
2007 Foxglove, Chardonnay (Edna Valley, California)
Tropical fruit and poached pear in a fleshy, medium-bodied style with obvious minerality. A great value!
2006 Kistler, "Les Noisetiers" Chardonnay (Sonoma Coast, California)
Big, soft oak. Tastes just like butter.
2007 Shoofly, "Buzz Cut" Verdelho/Sauvignon Blanc/Viognier/Riesling (Victoria, Austrailia)
Easy to drink now with notes of tropical fruit, peach, and grapefruit.
Sparkling
NV Charles de Fere, Blanc de Blanc Brut Reserve
Great for everyday drinking.
Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label
One of the best champagne values out there. A tremendous food wine. Don't drink champagne only once a year. It's just too good.
Billecart Salmon Rose, Reims, France
A special occasion sparkling wine. Simply delicious.
Beers
Michelob Ultra
A crisp lager with a nice, clean finish.
Foster's
A great beer, with a twist-off top, no less!
Hennepin Belgian Ale
An excellent, dry and fruity ale.
Cocktails
Dark 'n Stormy (r)
I was greeted in Bermuda by this drink and loved it. Full of bite from the ginger beer and dark complex spice from Gosling's Black Seal Rum. Fantastic!
Dessert
Mount Horrocks "Cordon Cut" Riesling, Watervale, Clare Valley, Australia
Dessert wines are underrated. This is perfectly balanced, sweet with flavors of pear and ripe apricot, a little hint of orange, and just the right amount of acidity.
NV, Nivole, Moscato d'Asti
I love this because it's got a hint of sparkle and a low alcohol content, perfect as an aperitif or with dessert.
