Dried Shitake Mushrooms: Soaking & Slicing
Steps 1-2:
Take 3-4 dried mushrooms and soak in a glass of warm water for 5 minutes. Stir well.

You will know mushrooms are properly soaked when they are supple to the touch. Twist them to make sure they are soft enough.

While carefully holding stem with one hand, snip off the stem.

You may also do this by lying the mushroom flat on the cutting board with the sides of the cap pulled together and back.
Step 5
Steps 6-8:
Pile mushrooms on top of each other 2-3 at a time. While holding pile together with one hand, carefully slice shiitakes into 1/8 inch slices.
